This iteration of the celadon and lacquer tea bowl is more cylindrical and has thicker walls than the others. The lacquer inlay in this piece spirals around the surface of the form and feels more sporadic. The red lacquer fills the cracks in the celadon to highlight the tea bowl’s imperfection, a contemporary kintsugi technique used and invented by Kodai Ujiie.
