The body of the bowl is glazed in a fiery, saffron-red, which starkly contrasts with the glittery, charcoal-colored clay underneath. The warm coloring and depth of the bowl, designed to hold the tea’s heat, suggest that it was created for use in a winter-time tea ceremony.Ceramic
