This tea bowl, with a black clay body deepens the cinnabar glaze to a rich blue with soft hues of purple and pink. The soft rings on the inside of the tea bowl are evidence of the bowl’s making and the artist’s hand. They also create areas where the glaze is allowed to pool and collect, suggesting something magical traveling around and inside the tea bowl.
