The simple form and color of Tsujimura’s stoneware vase is typical of the humble and austere quality of a Japanese tea ceramics. Inspired by roughly cut bamboo vases used in tea gatherings, the mottled green-grey of the wood ash glaze is reminiscent of the hue of the mature plant.
