Yasushi Fujihira’s Silver Tea Bowl contains a very different kind of aesthetic to that of his fathers.
Yasushi Fujihira's tea bowl is made of stoneware coated with a palladium glaze. The reflective surface for eh form feels mirror-like and fluid. the dense areas of glaze drip feels as if they are still moving/flowing. The foot of the form is simple and carved by the artist. This crackling texture of the glaze gives the piece a more natural, organic feeling. The glaze brings a vibrancy to the form.
