Natural Ash Vase by artist Yui Tsujimura is a tall cylindrical form covered in the artist’s signature blue-green glaze. The movement of the glaze drips is towards the side, evidence that the piece had been fired lying on one side. The pieces along the side of the form that had been broken off and sanded, are the result of pieces joined together in firing. The dark blue glaze on one piece is from the pooling of glaze during the Anagama firing, resulting in marble-like surfaces.
