'Fuji' Tea Bowl by Ruri Takeuchi is an elegant thrown form. The slight curvature of the body of the tea bowl towards the lip beautifully contrasts with the foot of the tea bowl. The gold foot is then juxtaposed by a thin porcelain band that brings the whole form together. The china painting of wisteria flowers is more symmetrical and patterned than organic and spontaneous. As usual with Ruri Takeuchi's work, the imagery on the surface travels inside the form.
