With sky-blue glass threads rippling throughout its clear body, this piece is inspired by the texture of Middle Eastern silk fabric, which is indicated in its Japanese name gāze, or roughly woven fabric. When Kota Arinaga blew air into the body of this glasswork to create the curved shape, the reticello canes twisted and expanded with the glass to form this unique pattern.
