This iteration of Yukiya Izumita’s classic Sekisoh Tea Bowl is a unique one due to the surface treatment with glaze. Izumita, tending to only use a matte black liner on the inside of his works, instead expanded on this original, well known visual language, and glazed the outside of this form with a bronze-like finish. The uncommon sheen makes this piece unique and a great piece to expand anyone’s tea bowl collection with.
