Ippodo Gallery is pleased to announce its second presentation at Salon Art + Design in New York, from November 6-10, 2025, at the Park Avenue Armory. Titled Dialogues in Material, the exhibition explores the resonant space where Japanese sensibility and Western practice converge, investigating how masterful materiality becomes the primary language of cross-cultural exchange. The collection features materials—clay, glass, resin, lacquer, metal, organza, and wood—that spark a unique cultural chemistry. Through this dialogue, Western artists inspired by Japanese traditions reflect new perspectives back upon the source, creating a dynamic and mutual exchange.
Featuring an international roster in a series of debuts, the presentation includes works by: Agnes Husz, Akira Hara, Andoche Praudel, Hiraku Sudo, Hiromi Itabashi, Jihei Murase, KAKU, Kenta Hirai, Laura de Santillana, Masahiro Maeda, Shota Suzuki, Ymer & Malta, Yuki Hayama, and Yukiya Izumita. Their works do not simply balance art and function, they dissolve the boundary, offering collectible objects that engage the hands deeply. Each piece is a testament to a unique material consciousness—an invitation to experience the weight, texture, and presence of a tangible significance and intelligent design.
