This circular tray was hand crafted by Tohru Matsuzaki. Created by repeated applications of lacquer, the deep black of urushi lacquer stands out in this piece. Accentuated by the brilliance of the red vermillion, the black markings of natural wood texture come to the foreground, creating interesting forms and textures on the center of the tray.
