Swirling brush strokes give this ink wash painting of a mountain studded with trees a sense of movement, as if the wind were dancing through the branches. A red-inked circular seal with the name of the artist, Tadataka Kishino, Sho’s father, stamped in the upper-left corner of the composition suggests the sun or moon illuminating the sky.
