Created at the Tacoma Museum of Glass in Washington, the distinctive oblong form deploys mastery over color de Santillana perfected in life-long glassmaking experience in Murano, and draws inspirations from Hindu cosmology. The opaque black glass enveloped in white frit powder reflects a diffused light like the eclipse of the sun. Piecemeal shards of clear glass dance across its body—melded into the rounded form—and magnify the shimmering surface in fractured shards.
