Four Seasons - Whispers of Spring glitters with gold leaf, a signature of Nakano’s Nihonga paintings, which recall the style of the Rinpa School, an Edo-period (1615–1868) revival of classical Japanese aesthetics expressed through vibrant colors and decorative design. A black-and-orange bird perches on the branch of a cherry blossom tree, peering down at butterflies dancing below, darting between flowers at the peak of bloom.
