We invite you to join us on Wednesday, March 15th, at 11 AM (EST) at Ippodo Gallery NY for a conversation between art historian Deborah A. Goldberg, Ph.D., who contributed an essay for the Terumasa Ikeda: Iridescent Lacquer exhibition catalogue, and Terumasa Ikeda, the artist in the spotlight for our Asia Week 2023 exhibition Terumasa Ikeda: Iridescent Lacquer.

Ippodo Gallery New York director Shoko Aono will be the moderator of this artist talk.

Iridescent Lacquer is both Terumasa Ikeda’s first visit to and his first solo exhibition in the United States. This event is a rare opportunity for a western audience to have an opportunity to listen to a conversation or public program with a renowned lacquerware artist from Kanagawa, the center of this craft.
