Frieze Masters 2025: The Regent's Park, London

15 - 19 October 2025
Overview

Ippodo Gallery is delighted to announce its debut at Frieze Masters 2025, featuring a solo presentation by Laura de Santillana, at the Regent’s Park in London from October 15–19, 2025.

The exhibition highlights her renowned glass sculptures that explore the material's potential for aesthetic and spiritual contemplation, featuring the very first tablet series piece created in 1999 alongside her Sun and Egg series, and never-before-exhibited translucent tablets.

As the granddaughter of Venini founder Paolo Venini, de Santillana reinterpreted her Murano glassblowing heritage through abstract forms, with her work held in institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Positioned within the fair's Reflections section, the presentation invites a deep meditation on how her objects capture and transform light, creating a dialogue between heritage and innovation.

Laura de Santillana (1955–2019) was raised in Venice surrounded by the greatest glass artists of the 20th century. She studied classics and architecture before moving to New York City, where she worked with the Vignelli Associates studio whilst attending the School of Visual Arts. De Santillana went on to design art books and began designing objects and lamps for Venini alongside her father Ludovico, and later de Santillana served as art director of the family business until 1993. Her work on kaiseki glass began a long working relationship with Japan that deeply affected her designs.
