Shin Fujihira’s Cinnabar Pot has his signature Cinnabar glaze, a wash of red flowing down the surface of the face of the pot. The shape of the form, thrown on the wheel, is slightly rounded, with a soft, simple curvature from the base of the vase and the shoulder. The image on the surface seems rather abstract, an embossing done through pressing a mold onto the clay when it was still soft.
