Koichiro Isezaki Japanese, b. 1974
H16 x W16 x D16 cm
After creating the shape of the vessel on a wheel, Isezaki throws the piece against a ridged surface; thus, this style is called Damon (“hit pattern”). While the pattern is created using a mold, there is an organic, rugged quality to these pieces. The roughness of the pattern contrasts the smooth, round base – Isezaki produces a textural symphony within this simple form.
