Isezaki has combined his exposure to 20th-century sculpture through his studies in the West with his roots in his local Bizen tradition, producing work that is at once contemporary and deeply connected to the past. His energized ridges are filled with textures and nuanced gradients. The chemical reaction from the natural materials placed in and around his jars creates a compelling composition around the entire work.
