In Matsubara’s words, the Buddhism concept of storing consciousness, alaya-vijnana, exists in the heart of all human beings. Exploring nature throughout the lands of Japan inspired him to become involved with tea ceremonies, where he learned that natural scenery is truly created by the forces of water.
