Damon Jar 打文壺, 2025CeramicH6 7/8 x W12 3/8 x D12 1/4 in
H17.5 x W31.5 x D31 cmC29399Copyright The ArtistAfter creating the shape of the vessel on a wheel, Isezaki throws the piece against a ridged surface; thus, this style is called Damon (“hit pattern”). While the pattern is created using a mold, there is an organic, rugged quality to these pieces. The roughness of the pattern contrasts the smooth, round base – Isezaki produces a textural symphony within this simple form.
