The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields has acquired Shore by Terumasa Ikeda. Shore was part of Ippodo Gallery's 2023 exhibition of Ikeda's work, Iridescent Laquer.
In Shore, miniature numerals, fine as sand, glitter radiantly as if under the blazing sun. Terumasa Ikeda devises his design by attaching gold leaf to the underside of silver-lip oyster, amplifying the golden luster as light passes through the pearlescent shell.
