Daisuke Nakano’s Painting Carp, 2011, displays an interesting composition. Once again Nakano challenges the point of view of the audience. The perspective of the painting is almost like peering into a pond full of carp. The emerald color of the water overlaps with the gold and brown of the carp to create the visual of peering into murky water. The frantic splashing of the carp, catfish, and turtles in the pond is translated well through the painting. Filled with movement, Nakano’s painting is energetic and exciting.
