In The Fragrant Wind, Nakano captures a scene of lush white blossoms so vividly that the viewer is almost able to smell their sweetness. Small white butterflies hover around the flowers as if petals blown off by the wind. Look closely towards the center and you’ll notice a bee, painted with such precision it seems as if a real insect has settled on the painting, drawn by the promise of nectar.
