Otsukimi (お月見, moon-viewing, also known as Jugoya (十五夜), pays homage to the moon with a festival. The full moon on this night is the most magnificent of the year, shining high in the autumn sky. Its beauty is marveled at today as it has been for centuries. Ippodo Gallery invites you to our very own Otsukimi festival on September 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Ippodo Gallery has assembled a selection of works that celebrate Autumn, many of which contain an image of the moon or simply the essence of the moon such as Akio Niisato's white tea bowl. Can you find it in our gallery? We welcome families and friends of all ages to spot moon motifs among our beautiful decorative objects.

In Japan, a dessert known as tsukimi-dango represents the full moon. Today, this event is still celebrated with these delicacies. We are delighted to provide these delicious sweets on this day.

We will be following all FDA and CDC protocols on the day of the event, such as temperature screening and contact tracing of staff and attendees in a way that is safe and respectful, and in accordance with any applicable privacy laws and regulations. All staff members and visitors will be required to wear masks during the entire event.

We look forward to seeing you!
