Synthesis: The Art of Japanese Fusama Photography
2014年3月13日

In traditional Japanese architecture, fusuma are vertical sliding panels that separate one side of a room from the other. Often composed of wood and paper, fusama responds gently to light and nature creating spiritual boundaries that divide rooms. Kenji Wakasugi uses black and white photography to combine views of nature with traditional Japanese architecture and history, creating a synthesis of opposing worlds that exists in the space between memories of the past and present.
