During the pandemic, I spent more time at home, more time interacting with things in my daily life, and realized its importance. Things you can touch and spend time with while you can't meet and interact with people like you used to. I found myself spending more time with objects, cooking, eating, and drinking became even more of a personal, intimate gesture and I once again realized the warmth of a handmade object. They can sometimes soothe, heal, and invigorate, like friends.
In order to share this season with you, Ippodo Gallery thanked everyone who survived this difficult 2020, and collected works that can be enjoyed on the table, centering on bowls.
A bowl is a special art form that you can enjoy by putting it on your palm. You can enjoy tea from it with your five senses. It brings a spiritual connection that goes beyond artistry.
Why not find a friend who will be with you?

The warmth of a dinner with family. whether it be helping in the kitchen, serving the dishes, or sharing laughter, it all seems rather distant this year.
We are resilient. We constantly find new ways to share our live with each other from frequent phone calls, sending letters, or presents. We find new ways to stay together while being apart.
This holiday season, we think of everyone in the world. Those who have lost and those who are far away and alone, we long to share with them a warm meal and embrace.
